नेपाल सम्वत् ११४५ सिल्लाथ्वः ४ ( २० माघ , २०८१) फेब्रुअरी २ , २०२५ , आइतबार, बाँपीझ्याला ।A medical transport jet carrying a child who had just completed treatment for a life-threatening condition, her mother, and four crew members crashed into a Philadelphia neighborhood shortly after takeoff on Friday evening. The Learjet 55, operated by Jet Rescue Air Ambulance, exploded upon impact, engulfing multiple homes in flames. While the company stated they could not confirm any survivors, at least six people were treated for injuries at a nearby hospital. It remains unclear whether anyone on the ground was killed.
The flight, which was transporting the child and her mother back to Mexico, had a planned stop in Missouri before reaching its final destination in Tijuana. Jet Rescue spokesperson Shai Gold emphasized that the crew was highly trained, and the aircraft underwent rigorous maintenance checks. The plane disappeared from radar minutes after departing Northeast Philadelphia Airport and was last recorded at an altitude of 1,600 feet. Air traffic control attempted to communicate with the aircraft before it vanished, but there was no response.

The crash site, near Roosevelt Mall in the densely populated Rhawnhurst neighborhood, created chaos, with debris scattered across a busy intersection. Witnesses described hearing a loud roar followed by a massive explosion. Security footage captured the moment the jet plunged from the sky in a streak of white before erupting into flames. Nearby residents initially mistook the impact for an earthquake or attack.
This marks the second fatal crash involving Jet Rescue in the past 15 months, following a 2023 accident in Mexico that claimed five crew members’ lives. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed that the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will lead the investigation. Officials expect to release more details as they piece together the events leading to the tragic incident.
