नेपाल सम्वत् ११४५ प्वहेलागाः १४ ( १५ माघ , २०८१) जनवरी २८, २०२५ , मंगलबार, बाँपीझ्याला । Chandragiri Municipality in Kathmandu has launched an online recommendation system for citizenship certificates, making it the first municipality in the Kathmandu Valley to implement such a service. Ward 12 of Balambu began the initiative with support from the Home Ministry and the District Administration Office.
The service was inaugurated by Mayor Ghanshyam Giri and Chief Administrative Officer Hem Raj Aryal, who forwarded online recommendations for two residents via the software. This digital service aims to streamline record-keeping, expedite service delivery, and reduce errors in documentation.

Currently, 2,000 wards across 28 districts have adopted online recommendations, initially introduced in Gaindakot, Nawalparasi, last year. Chandragiri Municipality plans to extend this service to all its wards within a week, while also providing other digital services like house map certification, revenue management, and vital registration.
Mayor Giri announced plans to implement digital signatures as part of a broader initiative for tech-friendly governance. The Assistant Chief District Officer of Kathmandu, Mukti Ram Rijal, applauded the municipality’s efforts, expressing hope that all local levels in Kathmandu would adopt similar services soon.
