Russian delegation calls on PM Dahal

A delegation from the Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Russia recently met with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ at his official residence in Baluwatar, Nepal. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss various aspects of Nepal-Russia relations and explore investment opportunities between the two countries.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Dahal informed the Russian delegation about Nepal’s upcoming Investment Summit scheduled for April 28-29, aimed at attracting foreign investment. He highlighted the government’s efforts to amend laws to facilitate and encourage foreign investors to invest in Nepal, emphasizing the country’s policy of cooperation with those interested in investing.

PM Dahal encouraged the Russian delegation to consider investing in Nepal, particularly in sectors such as roads, agriculture, hydroelectric projects, and information technology, citing ample opportunities for collaboration and development. He expressed confidence in strengthening the Nepal-Russia ties and underscored the importance of enhancing mutual cooperation in the future.

The Russian delegation, led by Sergey Katyrin, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industries of the Russian Federation, included representatives from the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and the Russian Ambassador to Nepal, Aleksei Novikov. The meeting reflects a positive step towards fostering economic cooperation and bilateral relations between Nepal and Russia, with a focus on expanding investment opportunities and collaboration in key sectors of development.
