Binod Chaudhary heads to Sri Lanka amid Bansbari land scandal inquiry

Well-known entrepreneur and lawmaker of the Nepali Congress party, Binod Chaudhary, has embarked on a journey to Sri Lanka amidst the ongoing investigation into the Bansbari land scandal. Today, the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the Nepal Police recorded a statement from Chaudhary regarding the Bansbari land case.

Chaudhary voluntarily visited the public prosecutor’s office this morning and spent close to two hours providing his statement to the CIB. After completing his statement, Chaudhary proceeded with his scheduled trip to Sri Lanka, as confirmed by Madhu Sudan Poudel, spokesperson of the Chaudhary Group.

The CIB had called upon Chaudhary in connection with the alleged misappropriation of 10 ropani of land belonging to the Bansbari leather shoe factory situated in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-3. Previously, businessman Arun Chaudhary, along with executive chairman Ajitnarayan Singh Thapa and Sanjay Thakur, were detained by the CIB in relation to the same land case.
